Rodrigo Sanchez serves as an elder at Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church, Adjunct Instructor of New Testament Interpretation and Assistant Director of the Hispanic Program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

A Note to All Guests
This tour is an extension of Nicea Conference 2025, which gathers in Istanbul October 22-25.

Nicea All-In Ticket Holders: Enjoy priority access and $250 off the price of this tour. We will arrange all flights mentioned in the itinerary.

If you have not purchased an all-in ticket, please take note of the arrival and departure details and arrange your own flights accordingly.
If you are not planning on attending Nicea Conference, please contact us, and we will be happy to make a couple slight adjustments to accommodate you.
October 15
Arrival
Antalya, Turkey (AYT)

Fly to Antalya, Turkey (AYT), where you'll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Please note that the tour concludes in a different city and airport than arrival. Return flights should be arranged from Istanbul (IST) and not Antalya (ATY).

as a reminder, the conference ends at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 25 in Istanbul.

Day One
Perga

Begin your journey through biblical sites with a tour of Begin your journey through biblical sites with a tourof Perga (Acts13:13-14:25), renowned for its historical ruins and as the place where Paul and John Mark parted ways.

Spend the afternoon enjoying the beautiful scenery whilecrossing the Taurus Mountains on your journey north toward Laodicea.

October 17
Day Two
Laodicea, Hierapolis, & Colossae

Spend the morning enjoying the beautiful scenery while crossing the Taurus Mountains on your journey north, followed by a tour of the ancient city of Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22), a picturesque reminder of the "lukewarm" church.

Later, explore Hierapolis (Colossians 4:13), the land of hot springs, the illusion of snow, and one of the best-preserved ancient theaters in Turkey.

End the day in Colossae, where you'll experience the site pre-excavation and get a better idea of what these places have looked like for centuries.

Day Three
Philadelphia, Sardis, & Smyrna

Enjoy a scenic drive to Hermes Valley where you'll briefly stop to visit Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13), the city of martyrs. Then spend time in Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6), the place of myriad faiths, creeds, and empires.

Spend the afternoon driving through the beautiful countryside to Smyrna, a principal city of the Roman  Empire vying for the title "First City of Asia."

Day Four
Pergamum & Thyatira

Begin at the Acropolis of Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17), where panoramic views of the ancient city await.

After lunch, travel to Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29),Lydia’s hometown (Acts 16:14), and learn how Paul’s ministry helped establish athriving Christian community there.

Day Five
Miletus, Didyma, & Priene

Explore the ancient ruins of Miletus, where Paul bid farewell to the elders of the church at Ephesus during his third journey (Acts 20). Visit the large theater, featuring an inscription that references the Jews and “God-fearers” of the city.

Day Six
Ephesus

Spend the morning enjoying the ancient city of Ephesus, where the Apostle Paul’s School of Tyrannus unleashed the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Asia.

Enjoy Turkish hospitality and culture for lunch with Osman, witnessing history through the craft of carpet weaving.

Then, visit one of the world’s oldest baptismals at St. John’s Basilica. Spend some time in the Ephesus museum, which houses the original statues of Artemis.

Nicea Conference Guests: Evening transfer to Izmir airport and flight to Istanbul (IST), followed by transfer to conference hotel for an overnight in Istanbul.
